Supporting New Forest families
The supporting families programme helps and supports families within the New Forest and Hampshire. We ask families about the things that are important to them, about the things that might help and what we can do differently to support them. This is how we start working together to get things back on track.
Trying to deal with more than one problem can make it difficult for families to get the right help and support. Many families have issues relating to:
Children not going to school
Finding it hard to get a job
Children in trouble with the police
Getting the right help and support
Not coping, or getting depressed
Physical or mental health problems
Domestic violence or abuse in the home
Drugs and alcohol
Risk of homelessness
Unhealthy weight or malnutrition
Many families tell us they know help is available, but trying to get the right help from the right organisation at the right time is not always easy.
Nominations for families are received in many different ways:
Partners completing the nomination form such as Police, Education etc, the form is available here Supporting Troubled Families Nomination Form [64kb]
Self-referrals from families who are in need of support, more information on the programme is available here Supporting Troubled Families Information Leaflet for Families [411kb]
Through the Early Help Hub. The Early Help Hub facilitates a multi-agency response to children and families requiring interventions beneath the threshold of statutory social care. Supporting New Forest families participate and attend weekly hubs and can accept nominations via this process.
