Domestic abuse

Domestic abuse is defined as incidents that include physical, emotional and sexual abuse, this can be in relationships or between family members, regardless of gender or sexuality. Domestic abuse is any incident/pattern of incidents of controlling, intimidating or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over. 

Raising awareness of domestic abuse is a priority for the Safer New Forest partnership and all reports are taken seriously.

Stop Domestic Abuse

Stop Domestic Abuse offer a confidential support service to women, children, young people and men experiencing domestic abuse. They provide services to people who have experienced or who are experiencing emotional, physical or sexual abuse in their relationships.

Domestic abuse forum

The domestic abuse forum, which comprises of several partner agencies across the New Forest such as Stop Domestic Abuse, Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire children and adult services, New Forest District Council and health services. The group convene 4 times a year and their main objectives are to develop quality services to effectively meet the needs of New Forest residents in regards to domestic abuse and to work with other agencies to prevent violent and abusive relationships.
