Rural crime

Country Watch teams are dedicated teams within Hampshire Constabulary working across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.  Their main objectives are to reduce rural crime, reassure rural residents and improve communication and engagement.

Country watch is a partnership approach to tackle issues within rural communities nationwide.  The local country watch team within the New Forest work with partner agencies such as Hampshire Constabulary, National Park Authority, Natural England, National Farmers Union, Forestry Commission, Environmental Agency, Hampshire Fire and Rescue and New Forest District Council.  The purpose of the group is to build links with other rural police forces and community bodies and share best practice.

Visit the Country Watch website for more information. You can contact your local Country Watching team by emailing or calling 101.

The Safer New Forest partnership is urging local businesses, farmers and residents to invest in quality security measures, from padlock alarms to security lighting and CCTV.
