Multi agency forums

Partnership intervention panels (PIP) is a forum that meets as and when required which involves a multi agency contribution to consider the behaviour of individuals. The panel ensures a joint up approach to problem solving for each individual case. 

The panel is facilitated by the community safety team at New Forest District Council. Depending upon the fundamental reasons for a PIP to be arranged, appropriate partner agencies are invited and expected to attend and contribute. 

These can include:

  • NFDC housing
  • housing associations
  • education
  • adult mental health
  • police
  • adult services
  • children's services
  • health services
  • supporting families
  • youth offending team
  • probation
  • voluntary sectors
  • fire and rescue
  • environmental health
  • child and adolescent mental health
  • victim support
  • south central ambulance services.

In certain cases and where appropriate victims, relatives or advocates can be invited to also attend and contribute for part of the meeting.

All information that is provided by partners is filed on the SafetyNet database that is under the control of Hampshire Constabulary. The database is only accessible to registered partners who are able to view cases for which they have made a referral for. The SafetyNet database is electronically linked to the police records management system enabling police officers to cross reference between crime and reports and the work of the PIP.
